The TSR-2 is the aircraft British aviation refuses to forget.
Designed by the British Aircraft Corporation as a Mach 2 low-level strike and reconnaissance platform, it represented the absolute peak of post-war British aerospace ambition.
Only one airframe ever flew before the project was cancelled in 1965, with surviving aircraft, tooling and production jigs ordered destroyed. Decades later it remains the great 'what if' of British military aviation, a symbol of engineering brilliance silenced by political decision.
A piece for anyone who carries the legend, visits the Cosford and Duxford survivors, and refuses to let go of one of the most remarkable aircraft Britain ever built.
