About the aircraft
The A330 is Airbus's twin-engine widebody for medium and long-haul routes. It first flew in 1992 and entered service in 1994, and its range, efficiency and the sheer number of passenger and freighter versions have kept it in production for more than thirty years. Contrails form when hot, humid engine exhaust meets the cold, thin air of the cruise levels and freezes into ice crystals.
