Eddie Saurenman designed new wooden wings with larger ailerons for a faster roll and better low-speed handling.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAn 8.5-litre Lycoming drives the propeller, while two AMT Lynx turbojets mounted either side of the fuselage add 350 lb of thrust each. With around 1,700 lb of combined thrust against a 1,550 lb airframe, the aircraft can hang on its propeller and hover.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eRich Goodwin flew Tornado GR1s with the RAF, including 21 missions in the 1991 Gulf War, before an airline career and a return to display flying.
